Mēdeia2.0 ISSUE N˚04

< Mēdeia1.0 > is a project that uses fashion as a medium to inform people about events and social issues around the world as captured by photographers in Japan and abroad.
The next phase of the project, < Mēdeia2.0 > , will focus on the "margins" of thought and emotion, in addition to directly conveying the truth.
The fourth issue is a collection of works by photographer Hiroko Komatsu. She develops installation works that emphasize the materiality of photography and addresses the conceptual theme of "death" through a series of photographs. Ruins, discarded tools, abandoned building materials. And a gentle breeze.
In birth there is hope, in death there is quiet and even beauty, but between birth and death there is desolation. (from the text)
The materials that quietly prolong their lives, forgotten by human beings, slowly begin to "die" in the medium of photography.


国内外の写真家が切り取った世界中の出来事や社会課題を、ファッションを媒体にして人々に知らせていくプロジェクト< Mēdeia1.0 >。

出版レーベル < Mēdeia2.0 > は、突き刺した真実だけではなく、思考と感情の“余白”にフォーカスする。

第4号は写真家、小松浩子の作品集。写真が持つ物質性を重視したインスタレーション作品を展開する彼女は、連続する写真を通して「死」という概念的なテーマを取り上げる。廃墟や捨てられた道具たち、放置された建材。そして穏やかに吹く風。

人間に忘れられたまま静かに延命する物質たちは、写真という媒体のなかでゆるやかに「死」へ向かい始める。
