Mēdeia2.0 Issue 06 Shomei Tomatsu Plastics

< Mēdeia1.0 > is a project that collaborates with domestic and international photographers and artists to share global events from a unique perspective. Inheriting its ideology, < Mēdeia2.0 > was launched as a spin-off publishing title. Renewing its creative direction starting with the latest Issue 06, the project presents a new intersection between society and art through a world view that is more robust and refined than ever before.
The latest Issue 06 focuses on Shomei Tomatsu, one of postwar Japan’s leading photographers. It features a re-edited collection of his "Plastics" series, which captures plastic fragments and washed-up debris on Kujukuri Beach in Chiba Prefecture as if they were still-life paintings, or fragments of society itself.

国内外の写真家やアーティストと共に世界の出来事を独自の視点で発信するプロジェクト。そのイデオロギーを継承し、出版タイトルとして派生した。最新号となるIssue 06よりクリエイティブを刷新し、これまで以上に強固で研ぎ澄まされた世界観を通じ、社会と芸術の新たな接点を提示します。

最新号となるIssue 06では、戦後日本を代表する写真家・東松照明にフォーカス。彼が千葉県・九十九里の浜辺に打ち上げられたプラスチック破片や漂着物を、まるで静物画のように、 あるいは社会の断片として捉えたシリーズ“Plastics”を再編集しました。
